Everest and Gokyo Valley Trekking, a pleasant and wonderful walks that leads you within beautiful and most scenic area on the other side of Everest region, where treks leads on least ventured trails compared to other mainstream routes.
Everest and Gokyo Valley trekking certainly delights walkers facing daily views of high snow capped peaks and exploring nice and lovely culture of Buddhism religion around traditional Sherpa villages of great interest.
Journey begins from the gateway town at Lukla, after flying in from Kathmandu where most of the adventure around Khumbu and Everest areas starts and completes.
Walk leads through farm villages along with mountain views to enter Sagarmatha National Park, listed in World Heritage Sites since 1979 from here walking into nice cool forest with climb to famous Namche Bazaar.
Namche Bazaar a great wonderful large village or a town with many good facilities for travelers with banks, various types of stores and shops where once a week a busy colorful Saturday take place.
From Namche with acclimatization day adventure carries to high Gokyo valley on leaving the main trails of Namche to Everest base camp, as our walk lead past with visit of Khunde and Khumjung villages, which is the last permanent human settlement.
Onward places on route are temporary places with good lodges to facilitate trekkers, where slow and steady climb with overnight stops in Dole and Machherma takes you within picturesque Gokyo valley and its simmering glacial lake with close views of Mt. Cho-Oyo, worlds 6th highest peak that straddles the frontier of Nepal and Tibet.
At Gokyo enjoy beautiful scenery along with hike to scenic hill top of Gokyo-Ri the highest point of the adventure at above 5,357 m / 17,570 ft high facing mind-blowing panorama of high mountains facing four world highest peaks with Everest and Makalu.
After a great exciting visit of Gokyo-Ri and the valley return route leads to quiet trails and back into forested area at Phortse village and then heading back to Namche on the same scenic trail to end our overall adventure at Lukla.

Seasons:
For Everest and Gokyo Valley trekking where one can join in all months of the year except monsoon wet months of mid June to mid September, best times from March to May, where most days are clear for mountain views with beautiful with wild flowers in bloom especially rhododendron of various colors (national flower of Nepal).
September to December during autumn / fall and winters most days are fine and clear for breathtaking views of peaks and landscapes, but with short sunlight hours where temperatures can drop to freezing cold with chances of snow above 2,800 m high.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu with tour around world heritage sites
Day 03: Fly to Lukla 2,820 m and trek to Phakding 2,657 m - 04 hrs.
Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m - 06 hrs.
Day 05: In Namche for rest and acclimatization with short hike.
Day 06: Trek to Khunde 3,880 m and at Khumjung 3,735 m - 04 hrs.
Day 07: Trek to Dole 4,100 m - 05 hrs walks

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
On landing at Kathmandu and Nepal international airport received by our guide and staff for short transfer to your hotel in the centre of Kathmandu, where our guide / leader briefs you of the treks with full information required to make your time in Nepal enjoyable.
Day 02: In Kathmandu with tour around world heritage sites.
Another day in Kathmandu where one can join in for interesting tour as Kathmandu steeped with historical and famous religious place listed in world heritage sites, rest of the afternoon free and preparation for Tengboche-Everest Panorama trekking.
Day 03: Fly to Lukla 2,820 m and trek to Phakding 2,657 m - 04 hrs.
Morning transfer to domestic airport of Kathmandu where short and scenic flight in a smaller aircraft (Dornier / Twin Otter or similar type) takes you high with views of mountain range includes Mt. Everest as plane lands at Lukla airstrip.
Lukla an interesting town where most treks and adventure around Khumbu begins and ends, from here an easy day of few hours walks to reach at Phakding for overnight stop, after trekking past nice villages adorned with religious symbols of prayer walls and spinning bells.
Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m - 06 hrs.
Start second day walks on pleasant trail with few ups and down to cross a long bridge to reach at Monjo village, and enter Sagarmatha National Park as walk leads past last village of Jorsalle and then on river bed within cool alpine tree lines.
Walk leads to cross high bridge and then climb on winding trail facing views of snow-capped peaks then reaching at famous Namche Bazaar for two overnight stops.
Day 05: In Namche for rest and acclimatization with short hike.
Rest day at Namche to support acclimatization before heading higher ground, an ideal place for leisure walks with options for short hike with several scenic places to choose, visit Everest View Hotel a walk of few hours, or visit the museum near National Park Headquarter on top of Namche.
The museum provides wide information of Khumbu area includes local culture and history of Sherpa as well of mountaineering expedition with flora and fauna, this place offers grand views of Everest, Amadablam, Tharmarserku and Kongde peaks.
Namche where busy and colorful Saturday market takes place once a week the place will be flooded with local and people from below Khumbu areas a great time to witness culture and traditional life of Eastern Nepal hill people.
Day 06: Trek to Khunde 3,880 m and at Khumjung 3,735 m - 04 hrs.
From Namche today a short walk heading higher area to Khunde and Khumjung villages, quite different to Namche Bazaar which you will witness more of Sherpa culture and heritage way of life.
Morning climb to a ridge of less than 2 hrs reaching at Syangboche old short airstrip, from here easy walk ups and down to Khunde village visit its only hospital of Khumbu area, and then short downhill to Khumjung located on glacial valley beneath towering sacred Mt. Khumbila, a patron god of Khumbu Sherpa.
Overnight stop in Khumjung village with afternoon free to explore around this nice traditional Sherpa village as well visit the old monastery treasures a scalp of a Yeti.
Day 07: Trek to Dole 4,100 m - 05 hrs walks.
After a pleasant time at Khumjung village where walk leads above from the main trail of Namche, where walk leads to climb facing scenic views of Everest-Amadablam and other peaks.
As climb leads further to reach on top Mong Hill with magnificent views of snow-clad peak, a small place with few lodge and Tea-Shops, from here descend to Dudh Kosi River at Phortse-Tenga for lunch stop.
Afternoon walk leads to slow climb into nice cool forest trail for few hours to reach at Dole with few good lodges for overnight stops.
Day 08: Trek to Machherma 4,470 m - 04 hrs.
From Dole morning starts with short steep climb and then on nice level path where tree lines fades for short rhododendron and juniper bushes as walk reach a wide valley at Luza for refreshing short break.
As walk continues with slow climb to reach on top of Machherma with views of massive Mt. Cho-Oyu listed world 6th highest at 8,201 and 26, 906 ft straddles the border of Nepal and Tibet.
After enjoying grand views of Cho-Oyu and arrays of peaks walk downhill to Machherma for lunch and overnight stop, a small nice spot tucked in a narrow valley.
Day 09: Trek to Gokyo Lake and the valley 4,800 m - 04 hrs.
Today adventure reaches you to our main destination and highlight at main Gokyo valley and its glacial lakes, morning a steady short climb with gradual walk to a place called Pangka, from here with climb above Dudh Kosi River to reach the first lake and shortly past second one then finally at Gokyo main third lakes.
Lodges located above the lake shore with time to marvel views of peaks and beautiful scenery after checking into a nice lodge for overnight stops and having lunch.
Day 10: Hike to Gokyo-Ri 5,357 m and trek to Na and beyond - 04 hrs.
Early morning climb for few hours to the top of Gokyo-Ri hill the highest spot of the adventure at above 5,357 m rewards you with spectacular panorama of world four highest peaks with Mt. Cho-Oyu, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu in the east with range of lesser mountains that surrounds you at the top.
Enjoying outmost views with Gokyo valley and its lakes includes Khumbu longest Ngozumba glacier fed from the mountains of Cho-Oyu and Gyachung Khang, after fabulous scenery descend to Gokyo, and after breakfast walk to the end of Gokyo valley to reach and beyond for overnight stop.
Day 11: Trek to Phortse village 3,870 m - 04 hrs.
Today will be one of the shortest walk of the trek heading much downhill above Dudh Kosi River and opposite of Machherma and from previous route as walk enters into tree lines to reach at sleepy and quaint village of Phortse for lunch and overnight stop.
Here with enough time to explore around this simple farm village with grand views of peaks.
Day 12: Trek to Namche Bazaar - 05 hrs.
After a pleasant time at Phortse and around high Gokyo valley morning descend to a bridge over Dudh Kosi River to reach at Phortse Tenga and climb to Mong hill where long descend and on good wide path brings you at Namche Bazaar for overnight stop.
Day 13: Trek to Lukla - 06 hrs.
Today will be longest day walks of the adventure, where route lead past Monjo after downhill to Dudh Kosi River and over national park to reach Phakding village, from here on good trail with few short uphill to reach our final ending point at Lukla, on reaching Lukla transfer into a nice lodge for last overnight stop in and around Khumbu and Everest region.
Day 14: Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Morning transfer to Lukla or Tenzing-Hillary airport and then fly back to Kathmandu overlooking grand panorama of Himalayan peaks with Everest and then land at Kathmandu airport, and transfer in a coach or car back to your hotels.
Day 15: Spare and Contingency day in Kathmandu.
Where flights involves around mountainous region, we are cautious that you catch your international flight on time, for this reason we have spared a day as contingency in case of flight delay and cancellation at Lukla or in the beginning due to bad weather conditions.

Day 16: International Departure Homeward bound.
Last day in Nepal, a country of high Himalayas with grand memories of Everest and Gokyo Valley trekking, and then transfer to Kathmandu / Nepal international airport for on ward flight to respective destinations or homeward bound.
