Best Seasons for Humla and Limi Valley Trekking:
Humla and Limi Valley trekking best times from April to May to October months, where most days are clear for mountain views cold in the morning and night times as well in shades.
September to October during autumn / fall most days are fine and clear for breathtaking views of peaks and landscapes, but with short sunlight hours where temperatures can drop to freezing cold with chances of snow sometimes.
Humla and Limi Valley can visit in the months of July and mid September during monsoon wet months, as the region falls within rain-shadow area where dark clouds are blocked by massive Himalayan mountain range.

Humla and Limi Valley the trail from Humla one of popular route for trade with Tibet that leads beyond Hilsa which is also on the famous trail to holy Kailash and lake Manasrover, where Limi valley falls in the hidden side often visited by local or western trekkers.This will be your great adventure visiting one of most remote corners with time to venture around time-lost villages of Mane-Peme, Til, Halji, Jang to Talung enriched with impressive Buddhist religion and cultures of strong Tibetan 
influence due to close border.

Adventure that leads you to hidden and lost Shangri-la around nice Limi Valley with its nice interesting villages and well kept monasteries with crops and vegetable fields. Humla and Limi Valley trekking starts with scenic air journey that includes flights both ways as plane lands at Nepalgunj within warmer area of Nepal Far South West, from Nepalgunj a short scenic flight to reach around cool hills at Simikot town.

From Simikot where adventure begins and ends, as walk leads first towards far end of Humla area at Hilsa close to Tibet border, and then heading towards
mountainous trail within Limi valley.

Within Limi valley where one will be taken back with marvelous views of mountains and valleys and visiting nice villages with interesting monasteries as walk follows to cross high passes to reach back at Simikot for flight to Kathmandu.
After an exciting and marvelous adventure with overwhelming experience then ending our wonderful Humla and Limi Valley in Kathmandu with unforgettable memories to take back home.

Day 04:     Fly to Simikot 2,370 m (45 mins) and transfer to local lodge.

Day 01:    Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On landing at Kathmandu and Nepal international airport received by Himalayan Asuka guide and staff for short drive to your hotel in the centre of Kathmandu city, at the hotel our guide / leader provides briefing on Humla and Limi Valley treks with full information required to make your time in Nepal enjoyable with us.

Day 02:    In Kathmandu with tour around world heritage sites.

A day in Kathmandu to relax after a jet leg of previous day, interested people can join in for interesting tour.
Kathmandu is full of historical and famous religious place listed in world heritage sites, rest of the afternoon free and preparation for Humla and Limit Valley Trek.

Day 03:    Fly to Nepalgunj (50 mins by air) and transfer to hotel.

Morning transfer to Kathmandu domestic air port for great air journey taking less than an hour of 50 mins to land at Nepal Far South West in Nepalgunj city airport, during flight fantastic panorama of Himalayan peaks from Langtang –Ganesh-Manaslu-Annapurna to Dhaulagiri range, on reaching at Nepalgunj airport transfer to hotel within the city, the area around of sub-tropical temperatures and close to India border of UP (Utter Pradesh).

Day 04:     Fly to Simikot 2,370 m (45 mins) and transfer to local lodge.

Morning early breakfast for short connecting flight to Simikot around Humla area, during flight views of Api and Shaipal as far towards Dhaulagiri range, on reaching Simikot after 45 minutes our staff and porters receives you.
Simikot, the headquarter and administrative town of Humla and Limi districts located around Far North of Karnali Zone, from its short small airstrip transfer to
local best lodge available.
Rest of the day enjoy walk around Simikot market and witness interesting cultures and custom of Humla people, mostly populated by ancient Hindu Nepalese call themselves as Malla Tahkuri, Rokas a Chhetri tribe with some Brahmin, Dalits and Magar the hill tribe of Western Nepal.

Day 05:     Trek to Dharapuri 2,300 m - 04 hrs.

First day walk starts with short climb for an hour to reach a lesser pass at 3,000 m high, rewards you with grand views of surrounding landscapes, and then downhill to reach at Dharapuri, walk lead above Karnali River and within pine forest past farm villages, coming across Humla people carrying loads all the way up a steep trail.
Walk on nice farm field area and terraces to reach overnight stop at a small farm village of Dharapuri.

Day 06:     Trek to Kermi 2,670 m - 04 hrs.

Morning walk leads to short day of 3-4 hours as route follows high above Karnali River and along near level of a river side, as river finds its own way through narrow gorges past high rocky slopes, walk along fields of barley, buckwheat, rice and potatoes.
On reaching Kermi, afternoon at leisure to enjoy natural hot spring in Nepali means  Tato-Pani, which is at mere distance from Kermi village, this is a small agricultural village also the first village with touch of Buddhism religion, from here onwards all the villages are of Buddhism faith and religion with strong Tibetan influence. 
Time permitting visit interesting Buddhist monasteries close to Kermi: Laikyo Gompa, of hundred years old, about 45 minutes walk and Lhundrup Choeling Gompa, less than half century old, nearest of 30 mins reach. 

Day 07:    Trek to Yalbang 3,020 m - 05 hrs.

Walk starts with gradual climb through fields of barley and buckwheat, after few hours cross a small pass, and descend to a suspension bridge over Sali River. 
Walk leads into cool pine forest facing views of Karnali River to reach at Yalbang for overnight camp.
Around Yalbang an interesting sites to visit above the village walk to Namkha Khyung Dzong Monastery where you witness a huge stone of Tibetan prayer or mantra carved on it. The Namkha Khyung Dzong the biggest monastery of the region, with around 130 monks. 
Monastery belongs to Nyingmapa lineage, oldest Buddhist sect founded by Guru Ringpoche / Padmasamava, an important tantric Guru of 7th century, inside the monastery large statue of Sakyamuni Buddha and some smaller statues with statue of Guru Rinpoche, monastery with school and a clinic. 

Day 08:     Trek to Muchu (3120 m) - 04 hrs or Tumkot 3,380 m - 05 hrs.

Leaving Yalbang, walk leads high above Karnali River past small village of Yangar, continue walk on wonderful path carved out of rocks, as trail takes you on three-sided tunnel. As walk progress witness dramatic change in environment as area gets rockier where tall pine trees fades for smaller bushes, then cross Karnali River over a suspension bridge. Our trail climbs above Karnali River along the upper site of a deep gorge, along the walk coming across herd of sheep carrying salt, on this old trade route of Nepal with Tibet that still exist.
Around trail with many temporary restaurants and shops a refreshing stops for tea, noodle soup or just to refill your stock of snacks, like coconut biscuits.
After few hours of pleasant walk reach Muchu village for overnight stop or carry on to Tumkot which is further hour walks.

Day 09:     Trek to Yari 3,700 m or Thado Dunga 3,750 m -05 hrs.

From Muchu short hour walk to reach at Tumkot and then climb a hill on leaving Tumkot, observe change of landscape as it gets becomes rocky and desolate. 
With only low juniper bushes as walk leads over dirt trail which is under construction at present, as route leads past small village of Pani Palwang with couple of teahouses along the road.
With few pleasant stops and then few hour walk leads to Yari or Thado Dunga, just after Yari for overnight camp.

Day 10:     Trek to Hilsa 3,720 m via crossing Nara-La 4,620 m -06 hrs.

Adventure today leads to high Nara-La pass at 4,620 m a long climb, rewards you with grand views of surrounding landscapes and mountains of both Nepal and Tibet side.
Our route climbs heading into desolate terrain where vegetation fades completely as country looks more like Tibet dry terrain, coming across big caravans of mules, dzopa or yaks. 
The bigger yaks are an especially impressive sight and walk past few teahouses at Tado Dunga; from here path is steeper, as walk leads to few hour climb over Nara-La.  Continue journey with views ahead of Tibet side and back towards Yari far below, on the other side of the pass where areas are similar to Tibet landscape surrounded by windswept mountains of brown, copper, ash and dark yellow colors. From the pass a long descent to Hilsa, close to the border of Tibet for overnight stop.

Day 11:     Trek to Mane-Peme 3,990 m -05 hrs.

After Hilsa town / village, cross a big iron bridge to other side of the river that connects to wide trail high above on a slope, as walk follows Karnali River towards east direction till Manepeme village is reached for overnight camp.

Day 12:      Trek to Til 4,000 m -06 hrs.

Morning leads to climb as it winds up through high and steep rocks, after few hours reaching a small path on near level ground for a while and then walk to an interesting meditation cave called Ya Yip Phuk. A meditation cave of Lotsawa Rinchen Sangpo (985-1055), a famous translator of Buddhist scriptures, where his activities were crucial to the revival of cultural exchange between Tibet and India, paving the way so-called second dissemination of Buddhism in Tibet.
The path surprisingly green at some parts, with few juniper trees and bushes among the bare rock, as walk climb for an hour to cross Lamka-La, a pass of above 4,300 meter, after the pass downhill to Til (more or less 2 hrs). 
On reaching the village encountering chörtens (stupas) with white building attached on high slope, a place with a monastery of Til. 
At Til houses are built of stones that blends with surrounding environment where some areas around are much greener, the village surrounded by birch and willow trees with terraced fields of barley, views of snow capped mountains with impressive glaciers towers above the village.
Til an authentic Tibetan village like all villages around Limi Valley here you can observe villagers in original Tibetan dress.

Day 13:     Trek to Halji 3,660 m - 04 hrs.

An easy day to Halji, allows time to explore around villages and visit of monasteries as walk starts following Limi River upstream on relatively flat trails.
Along the way chances of spotting some mountain goats and blue sheep! If you are very lucky you might even see a snow leopard from here on.
From Til takes few hours to reach at Halji as the village blends with the environment and enter the village passing a gate chörten after which a very big mani wall appears, a low wall with many stones in which holy mantra’s and Buddhist deities are carved. 
In Halji the monastery, Rinchenling Gompa, is in the village itself. It’s built in the 14th Century belongs to Kagyug-Pa lineage. 
The main Gompa (monastery of Limi Valley) serves as religious centre of the area it has been beautifully restored (with help of Nepal Trust) and has many interesting parts to visit. 

Day 14:     Trek to Jang 3,930 m - 04 hrs.

From here walk on moderate trail for some hour from Halji to reach Jang, following Limi Khola,  Jang third and last village within Limi Valley with other smaller villages; It’s very special to be in such a secluded place where Tibetan culture still retains relatively untouched from modern day world.

Day 15:     Trek to Talung 4,370 m - 07 hrs.

On leaving Limi Valley and authentic Tibetan villages in near future it might not be the same, walk leads through complete desolate landscapes as trail climbs slowly but steadily to reach overnight camp at Talung.

Day 16:     Trek to Shinjungma 3,620 m via crossing Nyalu La 4,940 m - 08 hrs

Morning leads to most scenic pass of the adventure, a steep climb on the highest spot of the adventure at Nyalu La above 4,940 m high, sometimes encountering snow and ice, makes the climb more challenging, from the pass breathtaking 360° panorama of Humla with Tibetan landscapes as far towards holy Mt. Kailash (6,714 m) and Mount Saipal (7,031 m) includes array of snow mountains.
From the pass steep descend to the lake of Selma Tso at 4,630 meter where trail continues going down, following Salli River, to campsite at Shinjungma with grand views of Mount Saipal.

Day 17:     Trek from Shinjungma to Kermi 2,670 m - 07 hrs.

Today walk leads back to Kermi village as trail drops below 3,000 m for first time after ten days, a pleasant walk into pine and birch forest along Salli Khola (stream), with rocks towering on both sides of the trail. 
Finally walk meets Karnali River and then heading east towards Kermi village for overnight stop with time to relax your body in the hot spring.

Day 18:     Trek to Simikot 2,950 m - 06 hrs.

A long day and last final walk of the adventure to Simikot where route follows past Darapuri and Maj-Gaon and then on nice path as walk climbs for some hours to reach on top of small pass at 3,000 m. 
From the top downhill to Simikot where our day and walks ends at Simikot and in the comfort of nice hotel / lodge after being in tents for many nights around high Humla and Limi Valley.

Day 19:     Fly to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj and transfer to hotel.

Morning walk to Simikot airstrip and then board in a small aircraft where short flight takes you at Nepalgunj airport, and then taking another flight back to Kathmandu, on reaching at Kathmandu, where short drive takes you to your hotel after a grand adventure around Humla and Limi Valley Trekking.

Day 20:    Spare and free day in Kathmandu for individual activities.

In Kathmandu spare day in case of flight delay or might lead to cancellation at Jhupal, due to bad unfavorable weather conditions which might occur sometime, if all goes well as per our itinerary days.
Enjoy free day for your own individual activities and shopping souvenirs or relax with great memory of Humla and Limi Valley Trekking. 

Day 21:    International Departure Homeward bound.

Last day in the country of high Himalaya and with great memory of exciting experience on Humla and Limi Valley Trekking, and then transfer to Kathmandu / Nepal international airport for on ward flight to respective destinations or homeward bound.
