Seasons: For Island Peak Adventure Climb where nearly all seasons of the year one can join in, the best time is from March to May and September to December months. March to May falls in spring season when most of the days are clear for views as well walks and climb to Island Peak, some days in late afternoon can get cloudy with cool wind chill specially in the morning and night times. During spring can expect snow sometimes around highest altitude and on climb to Island peak.September to December around autumn / fall and pre winter day is crystal clear but with short sun light hours can be freezing cold in the morning and night time with chances of snowing sometimes.

Island Peak Adventure Climb also known as Imjatse Himal as listed with Nepal Mountaineering Association as NMA for short, stands with pride in the midst of scenic Imjatse valley at the height of 6,160 m high. Island Peak Adventure Climb where journey to world highest country leads to Nepal Far North Mid-East Himalaya just a mere distance fromtowering Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhotse. Island Peak name derives from its beautiful location which stands in the middle of wide Imjatse valley appears like an Island hence the name was christened as Island peak which more popular rather by its local name Imjatse Himal. Island Peak Adventure Climb begins with sweeping panoramic flight from Kathmandu to land at famous Lukla a Sherpa town with its small airstrip and the airport named after late Tenzing and Hillary the legendry mountaineers who first stepped on top Mt. Everest in 1953. Walk leads to follow glacial Dudh Kosi River heading past number of nice Sherpa villages lined with prayer symbols and stone walls with Buddhism prayer inscription.
Walking on nice river valley and gorge within cool forest then with climb to Namche Bazaar the hub of Khumbu Sherpa people where busy colorful bazaar held every Saturday of a week.With time at Namche for acclimatization and short hike adventure continues heading on scenic trails with glorious views of Everest and range of peaks as route leads to high hill at beautiful spot of Tengboche and its monastery. Tengboche offers grand panorama of high peaks with Everest within its lovely green woodland as well visiting its monastery of great interest, as walk leads to down and ups on leaving green vegetation and tree lines then reaching higher mountainous area at Everest base camp. Where trek leads to few settlements of Pheriche and Lobuche to reach at Everest base camp and climb up to high Kalapathar rocky hill top to catch best views of Everest and surrounding high peaks. Visiting scenic high areas of Khumbu which is necessary for good exercise and acclimatization before our actual adventure climb on top Island Peak.
From Gorakshep and Lobuche walk towards Imjatse valley above Dingboche to reach last human settlement at Chukung and then towards our main goal at Island Peak base camp.At Island Peak base camp with time for practice and to plan the route of climb where next early morning leads you to strenuous climb with some technical effort to reach the high summit of Island Peak and Imjatse Himal.
Enjoy fantastic panorama of surrounding giant peaks that surrounds you and then descend safely back to base camp to clean and clearing all the camping mess to proper disposal sites, and return back downhill to Lukla for swift flight to Kathmandu with most fascinating experience on Island Peak Adventure Climb. Island Peak Adventure Climb grade as PD + means ‘Per Difficule’ taken from French and Swiss Alpine Climbing Classification Systems widely used all around the world for alpine style climb. Island Peak leads to straight forward with vigorous climb on ice and snow with glacier section with some technical effort to reach top of Island Peak. Over the years where normal route has changed due to avalanche and movement of glaciers which is normal happens all seasons around Himalaya region.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
On arrival at Kathmandu international airport received by Himalayaasuka Treks & Expedition staff for short transfer to you hotel in the centre of Kathmandu city in and around active place of Thamel. After checking your rooms getting refreshed meet with other member for group briefing with full information of the hotel-trek and climb-culture with other necessary details with group dinner in a nice authentic Nepalese Restaurants.
Day 02: In Kathmandu tour around world heritage sites.
Free day in Kathmandu preparation for trek and climb of Island Peak, and one can join in our tour around Kathmandu at places of interest as Kathmandu city and the valley steeped with world Heritage Sites.
Day 03: Fly to Lukla 2,820 m and trek to Phakding 2,657 m - 04 hrs.
Morning fly to Lukla with grand views of Himalayan peaks during 35 mins flight with Everest on reaching at Lukla with time to refresh, then continue walk on gradual trail with few ups and down past Sherpa village to reach at Phakding for overnight stay.
Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m - 06 hrs.
Morning starts on gradual trail following Dudh Kosi River upstream to reach at Monjo and Sagarmatha National Park entrance, from here on river valley within forested area, then with climb for few hours to reach at famous Namche Bazaar for two nights stop.
Day 05: In Namche for rest and acclimatization with short hike.
Namche a perfect spot and heights for rest days to support acclimatization, where one can take a high up at scenic view point facing Everest-Lhotse-Nuptse-Amadablam and other range of mountains, walking high resting and sleeping helps to acclimatize better before heading highest areas.
Day 06: Trek to Tengboche 3,867 m - 05 hrs.
From Namche heading up and on winding trail with downhill to a river and then uphill walks for few hours within serene alpine woodland to reach at scenic Tengboche Monastery, surrounded by series of peaks with views of Everest and Amadablam, overnight stop at Tengboche with time visit its monastery of great interest.
Day 07: Trek to Pheriche 4,230 m -05 hrs.
Morning walk on downhill leaving the green vegetation and tree lines for a week to reach a strong steel bridge, where slow climb leads to the last permanent village at Pangboche. From heading towards windswept country where trail diverts with east to Dingboche and North heads to windy valley of Pheriche, as our walk continues with climb to a ridge top then down to river and then getting across to reach at nice settlement in Pheriche for overnight stop.Pheriche houses many good lodges with views of Amadablam North Face with Taboche and Cholatse includes series of high peaks, Pheriche a place where small HRA (Himalayan Rescue Association) stationed.
Day 08: At Pheriche rest day for acclimatization and excursion.
At Pheriche enjoy another rest day with hike around to fantastic view points where climbing high and resting low supports acclimatization. Climb towards Pheriche eastern hills for better view includes Island Peak and other series of high peaks with Dingboche and scenic Imjatse Valley.
Day 09: Trek to Lobuche 4,890 m - 05 hrs.
From Pheriche morning walk leads to gentle up as altitude catches taking slowly to reach at Thugla for lunch stop, in this small place, afternoon climb to a ridge of Thugla-La with gradual walk of an hour from here to reach at Lobuche for overnight with views of Nuptse and Lobuche peaks.
Day 10: To Everest Base Camp 5,365 m back at Gorakshep 5,180 m - 06 hrs
After Lobuche morning walk to reach our main highlight at Everest base camp, as route leads to slow climb above Khumbu glacier and moraine to reach a flat field at Gorakshep a place with few nice lodges.From Gorakshep continue walk eastward to reach at Everest base camp, on reaching our destination enjoy views of giant peaks with Khumbu Ice-Fall and glaciers, and then walk back to Gorakshep for overnight stop.
Day 11: Climb Kalapathar at 5,545 m and trek to Chukung 4,730 m - 06 hrs.
Morning hike on top Kalapathar above 5,545 m, highest point on trekking offers super views of mountain range with Everest and Pumori at close distance. From here descend to Gorakshep and then back to Lobuche, walk continues past Thugla with long descend to reach Imjatse valley to reach at Chukung a small settlement for overnight stop.
Day 12: Trek to Island Peak Base Camp 5,200 m /17,060 ft- 04 hrs.
After Chukung, morning walk to reach at Parsya Gyab around Island Peak Base Camp, as route leads to steep climb over moraine and on top Lhotse glacier, as trek leads to follow icy stream to reach a snout of Imja glacier and a dry pond in-between Lhotse and Imja glaciers at base camp a place called Parsya Gyab.
Day 13: At Island Peak Base Camp rest and practice climb.
A rest day to support acclimatization and for final preparation to reach on top Island Peak, with time to check climbing equipment and getting ready for next day early climb, as well for climbing training on ice and rocky walls at base camp.
Day 14:Climb Island Peak-Imjatse Himal 6,160 m and 20,328 ft - 08 hrs.
After some practice and acclimatization with good exercise helps you to start our adventure and climb on top Island Peak.Early morning climb takes you to cross over a glacier taking pre-caution avoiding crevasses, as climb takes you straight north over snow covered scree in-between a glacier to the top ridge.A hard and tough climb over rocks and icefall sections heading towards steep snow and ice ramp to reach near 100 m (300ft) on top of the summit of Island Peak / Imjatse Himal and enjoy glorious vista of landscapes and mountain range, after a wonderful experience descend to base camp.
Day 15: Reserve and contingency day in case of unfavorable weather.
It is always wise to have spare or contingency day in this type of high altitude adventure, where weather can be unfavorable sometimes as per our plan and itinerary days, using this extra day on route back to Lukla with short and enjoyable walks.
Day 16: Trek to Pangboche 3,900 m past Chukung and Dingboche - 05 hrs.
After an adventurous climb on top Island Peak, morning clear the camp neat and tidy taking care of rubbish and garbage, as walk leads on pleasant trail losing height every hours on downhill path with some few short ups to reach at Pangboche for overnight stop.
Day 17: Trek to Namche Bazaar - 06 hrs.
From Pangboche descend to a bridge where an hour climb leads at beautiful spot in Thyangboche and then downhill to a river with an hour up and then on good winding path to Namche Bazaar for overnight stop before Lukla.
Day 18: Trek to Lukla - 06 hrs.
A long and last day walk to reach our final overnight stop around Khumbu in Lukla, from Namche downhill to river and then short climb to Monjo past Sagarmatha National park to reach Phakding village, from here few hours walks reaches you at Lukla for final overnight stop within Everest and Khumbu area.
Day 19: Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
After a great adventure around high Khumbu and Everest where short walk takes you at Tenzing -Hillary airport for scenic short flight to Kathmandu, on landing at Kathmandu airport transfer to your respective hotels.
Day 20: Spare and Contingency day in Kathmandu.
We reserve an extra day in Kathmandu to make our standard itinerary days flexible and as contingency in case of flight delay and cancellation at Lukla or in the beginning.Sometime weather can be unfavorable for flight around mountainous region of Himalaya, if all goes well according to our plan and itinerary use this day for individual activities or join in another interest tour.
Day 21: International Departure Homeward bound.
Last day in the land of high Himalaya and varied interesting cultures, depart from the hotel as time for your international flight homeward bound, or to next respective destinations, after enjoying marvelous and grand time in Nepal and on Island Peak Adventure Climb with Everest Base Camp Trekking.

Himalayan Asuka made my dream came true.For me 4peaks 3passes(Mera ,island, Pokalde and Lobuche ) climbing it seen unpossible because this time was my first climbing. But my Superman (Pemba) who has experience, he prepared everything well and also had wonderful stuffs to go with us. They always cheered me up ,safe my life and had many things done to make me success all 4peaks summit .I can't appreciate them enough. Thank you. Can’t wait for next expedition in2023^_^
