Best Seasons for Rara Lake Journey:
For Rara Lake Journey best times from April to May and September to early November months, where most days are clear for mountain views cold in the morning and night times as well in shades.
September to early November during autumn / fall most days are fine and clear for breathtaking views of peaks and landscapes, but with short sunlight hours where temperatures can drop to freezing cold with chances of snow sometimes.

An enjoyable journey of short duration of less than week time frame that takes you in the heart of country biggest Lake Rara that covers 10.08 sq km’s with altitude of above 2,990 m high.

Rara Lake Journey leads to scenic and gradual uphill walk which is not too strenuous or tough, where you will be hiking for few days with overnight stops in the comfort of nice mountain lodge and resorts.
Rara Lake situated within Rara Lake national park, the smallest park area of Nepal covering an area of 106 s.q. kms. Where rare mountain wild-life and exotic birds are found from gallinaceous birds and migrant waterfowl commonly sighted in around Rara Lake.
Including great - crested grebe, black-necked grebe, red-crested pochard are seen during winter. Other common birds are the snow-cock, chukor partridge, Impeyan pheasant, Kalij pheasant and blood pheasant.
Rara Lake area will be a wonderful place for naturalist, botanist and as well for bird watchers within serene and lovely surroundings, to enjoy more of its exotic flora and fauna besides marvelous scenery.
After an enjoyable time around Rara Lake with magnificent views of surrounding snow-capped mountains then head back to Talcha the nearest airstrip around Rara Lake.
From Talcha where short flight takes you to low warm south-west at Nepalgunj city to connect flight back to Kathmandu, after a most wonderful experience on natural scenic areas on Rara Lake Journey.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu free day options for tour around places of great interest.
Day 03: Fly to Nepalgunj (50 mins by air) and transfer to hotel.
Day 04: Flight from Nepalgunj to Talcha airport and transfer to lodge.
Day 05: Trek to Murma Hill 3,800 m to reach overnight stop - 04 hrs.
Day 06: Hike and explore around Rara Lake 2,990 m and enjoy the views.
Day 07: Trek to Talcha for overnight stop.
Day 08: Fly to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj and transfer to hotel.
Day 09: Spare and Contingency day in case of flight delay at Talcha.
Day 10: International Departure homeward bound or respective countries.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Day 02: In Kathmandu with tour around world heritage sites.
A day in Kathmandu to relax after a jet leg of previous day, interested people can join in for interesting tour.
Kathmandu is full of historical and famous religious place listed in world heritage sites, rest of the afternoon free and preparation for Rara Lake Trip.
Day 03: Fly to Nepalgunj (50 mins by air) and transfer to hotel.
Morning transfer to Kathmandu domestic air port for great air journey taking less than an hour of 50 mins to land at Nepal Far South West in Nepalgunj city airport, during flight fantastic panorama of Himalayan peaks from Langtang –Ganesh-Manaslu-Annapurna to Dhaulagiri range, on reaching at Nepalgunj airport transfer to hotel within the city, the area around of sub-tropical temperatures and close to India border of UP (Utter Pradesh).
Day 04: Flight from Nepalgunj to Talcha airport and transfer to lodge.
Morning early breakfast for short connecting flight to Talcha airport the nearest airstrip around Rara Lake area, during flight views of Dhaulagiri and with high western Himalaya range, on reaching at Talcha after 45 minutes our staff and porters receives you.
On reaching at Talcha after 45 mins, transfer to nice and simple lodge at Talcha village.
Afternoon walk around Talcha market and observe native of western Nepal and with interesting local culture and traditional life.
Day 05: Trek to Murma 3,800 meters for overnight stop - 04 hrs.
With interesting overnight stop at Talcha, morning start on gradual path and then climb up to a ridge to reach at scenic spot in Murma located on a high hill top, this will be the highest point of the journey.
On reaching to your lodge with time to enjoy views of surrounding beautiful landscapes covered with pristine forest and snow capped peaks.
Day 06: Explore around Rara Lake 2,990 m and enjoy the views.
A free day around marvelous location where you can hike and enjoy beautiful surrounding with dramatic landscapes facing views of high mountains, a pleasant walk to reach at Rara Lake, with lake side with few lodge built by the Park and village community for visitors.
A perfect and ideal place to enjoy rest of the days, explore around this fabulous area where foreign visitors seldom venture this beautiful areas of Rara Lake, climb to a wooden tower for best views of Rara Lake with surrounding beautiful rolling green hills and snowcapped peaks.
Day 07: Trek to Talcha for overnight stop.
Morning catching 380° panorama of stunning views of landscapes with Rara Lake and its surrounding lovely woodland including distant high snow-clad peaks, after breakfast walk back to Talcha for last overnight around marvelous country of Rara Lake.
Day 08: Flight from Juphal to Nepalgunj and connect flight to Kathmandu.
From Talcha small airstrip morning short flight to Nepalgunj city airport, with time to get refreshed before connecting flight back Kathmandu on reaching Kathmandu transfer to your hotels.
Day 09: Contingency day in case of flight disturbance to and from Jhupal.
A free and reserve day in Kathmandu in case of flight delay and cancellation at Talcha, which can occur sometimes even in good seasons as Himalayan weather can be unpredictable sometime with unfavorable climate conditions for flights around mountain region.
Day 10: International Departure Homeward bound.
Last day in the country of high Himalaya and with great memory of exciting experience on Rara Lake Journey, and then transfer to Kathmandu / Nepal international airport for on ward flight to respective destinations or homeward bound.
