Seasons:
Tsum Valley trekking best times from March to May, where most days are clear for mountain views with beautiful with wild flowers in bloom especially rhododendron of various colors (national flower of Nepal).
September to early November during autumn / fall most days are fine and clear for breathtaking views of peaks and landscapes, but with short sunlight hours where temperatures can drop to freezing cold with chances of snow above 1,800 m high.

Tsum Valley Trekking begins with exciting and interesting drive from the capital Kathmandu towards Nepal Mid West within sub-tropical climate around rich agricultural country.
Journey continues following raging Burigandaki River for some days heading uphill into nice farm villages of Machha Khola, Jagat and Lokpa with great change in temperatures, landscapes including people from low to higher areas.
Tsum Valley trekking continues heading further north-east after leaving the river and the main Manaslu trail, as our direction leads close behind massive bulk of Ganesh and Manaslu Himalaya range.
Finally walk takes you to our main highlight at Mu Gompa after exploring nice
villages of Tsum around Chokang-Paro and Nyle at Mu Gompa enjoy fabulous views of beautiful landscapes and snow clad peaks as well visiting its impressive old monastery.
Enjoying time around Mu Gompa (monastery) then our journey within Tsum Valley concludes as walk leads back at Lokpa and towards low warmer areas to end our adventure on Tsum Valley Trekking with exciting overland journey back to Kathmandu.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
On landing at Kathmandu and Nepal international airport received by our guide and staff for short transfer to your hotel in the centre of Kathmandu, where our guide / leader briefs you of the treks with full information required to make your time in Nepal enjoyable.
Day 02: In Kathmandu with tour around world heritage sites.
Another day in Kathmandu where one can join in for interesting tour as Kathmandu steeped with historical and famous religious place listed in world heritage sites, rest of the afternoon free and preparation for Tsum Valley Trekking.
Day 03: Drive to Soti-Khola 700 m - 06 hrs
Morning transfer for long interesting drive heading Nepal Mid-West Himalaya, as journey leads on main mountain highway overlooking views of mountains and hills, heading past rural farm villages and town to reach at Arughat around Gorkha district. From here another hour ride reaches at Soti-Khola village for overnight stop in this small village and slowly developing into a town.
Day 04: Trek to Machha-Khola 869 m -04 hrs
First day walks begins within steep valley around forest and past many small villages that lines the hillside, walk continues on a wide valley opposite to a large tributary stream that joins with Burigandaki River.
Nice views of cultivated terrace of Lapbesi upper village as walk descend to a wide, sandy riverbed as walk follows path that meanders below a steep, craggy valley side.
As walk progress climb to Machha Khola for overnight stop, another small farm village with teashops and nice simple small lodge for overnight accommodation, the word Maccha means Fish so the village got the name as Machha Khola (stream).
Day 05: Trek to Jagat 1,340 m- 05hrs.
From Machha-Khola heading across many interesting farm villages with neat cultivated fields, where vegetation changes slowly as altitude gains with cooler temperatures, morning walk comes across a stream where Machha Khola (Fish stream) name comes from.
Walk continues upstream to reach Bensi village a place with natural hot spring known as ‘Tatopani’ in Nepali.
As journey continues where valley becomes turns into a narrow and steeper gorge, where trail switches to cross a suspension bridge, after a short period of walks enter into cool shade of forest to reach at Doban located on high shelf of Burigandaki River.
After short refreshing stops walk on broad gravel field towards Lauri stream and then cross a bridge that leads to climb on higher path then descending into a open valley at Yara Khola, walk continues for another hour to reach at Jagat village for overnight stop.
Jagat a nice and interesting farm village of moderate size; people are of mix race from Magar, Chettries, Brahman, Manaslu Bhotia (Tibetan looking tribes) and with some Newar people.
Day 06: Trek to Lokpa 2,240 m - 05 hrs.
From Jagat descends to a river, where climb leads on terraced hillside at Saguleri, with view of Sringi Himal 7,187m. Walk continues with ups and down trail as our route reach at a bridge over Buri-Gandaki.
After crossing a bridge reach at Philim village with rich cultivated fields and terraces, with refreshing top climb into golden fields of wheat’s and barley, and past forest area towards Eklai Bhatti
From here walk to Lokpa where route divert towards North West to reach our overnight stop at Lokpa within cooler area with more Tibetan origin people from here onward.
Day 07: Trek to Chokang-Paro 3,031m-05 hrs.
Morning walk leads near to a high cliff walls, as route continues toward east direction to reach at Chokang Paro village, from here on leaving the main Manaslu route where houses and terrains completely changes into more Tibetan like with culture and landscapes, Chokang Paro village an interesting place for overnight stop in a nice simple local lodge or camping on the village yard.
Day 08: Trek to Nyle 3,347m - 05 hrs.
From here on where our journey enters into the hidden Shangira-La within Tsum valley, morning walks head into higher terrain of Tsum to reach at Nyle village for overnight stop within open wide valley within arid and dry country similar to Tibetan landscapes. On route walk to Nyle visit famous Guru Milereppa meditation cave a great Buddhist saint with 11th century history.
Day 09: Trek to Mu Gompa 3,700 m / 12,139 ft - 04hrs.
Short morning walk to reach at Mu Gompa and it interesting old monastery of the region, as our route leads to a climb within dry country facing views of surrounding high peaks, and then slowly completing our day walk on reaching at Mu Gompa for overnight stop.
Day 10: Rest Day at Mu-Gumpa to explore around.
At Mu Gompa a rest day to explore around and witness this age-old traditional village with its impressive ancient monastery of Mu Gompa, treasures antique important idols, statue and relics where this will be the highest spot of the trek around Tsum Valley.
Day 11: Trek to Rachen-Gompa 3,240 m- 05 hrs.
Morning on leaving Mu Gompa then heading to its next monastery of great interest at Rachen Gompa, walk leads on gradual trail with short ups and downs with views of snow peaks to reach Rachen Gompa a moderate size village for overnight stop.
Day 12: Trek to Chumling 2,386 m -05hrs.
Return journey leads you back within greens with tree lines with last and final overnight stop within Tsum Valley area at Chumling.
Day 13: Trek to Lokpa 2,240 m - 05 hrs.
From here our route retraces back to Lokpa to join near Manaslu valley route, where nice walk follows with grand views of mountains and dramatic landscapes all the way to Lokpa for overnight stop.
Day 14: Trek to Philim village 1,590 m - 06 hrs.
Morning on downhill to reach the main trail of Manaslu, walk further south to warm farm village at Philim, an interesting place for overnight stop within a large and spread out village with immense farming of crops and vegetables.
Day 15: Trek to Tatopani village with Hot Spring-06 hrs.
Morning walk follows Burigandaki River down-streams on the same earlier trail as descend leads around low sub-tropical area to Tatopani village for overnight stop a place with natural hot-spring. Here enjoy refreshing moments on natural hot-spring with time to explore around the farm villages.
Day 16: Trek to Soti Khola 730 m - 06 hrs.
Walk continues following river downstream encountering many farm villages and into patch of forest of oaks and Sal trees, then reaching our last overnight stop and the end of our final walk at Soti-Khola village.
Day 17: Drive to Kathmandu -06 hrs.
Morning on completing our wonderful adventure around high Tsum Valley Trekking drive to Kathmandu on interesting highway, on reaching at Kathmandu transfer to respective hotels with rest of the afternoon free at leisure.
Day 18: International Departure Homeward bound.
Last day in the country of high Himalaya and with great memory of exciting experience on Tsum Valley Trekking, and then transfer to Kathmandu / Nepal international airport for on ward flight to respective destinations or homeward bound.
